The immediate transfer of the Police Inspector probing the sexual abuse case against the ADP Party leader Kamarainba Mansaray is suspicious.
Reports indicate that the Police Inspector in question, who was the Line Manager at the Tankoro Police Station in Koidu Town, Kono District was transferred to another Police Station after giving his honest assessment on the file containing the sexual penetration allegations case against the outspoken opposition politician Mr Mohamed Kamarainba Mansaray of the Alliance Democratic Party ADP. The latest information from the Police Headquarters in Freetown says the Inspector’s transfer from the Tankoro Police Station to another Police Station was completed on Monday, July 20, 2020. And immediately the file was delivered to Freetown by the Tankoro Police LUC Sankoh, he was transferred automatically.
It is reported that trouble for the victimised Inspector of Police started after he had completed the first statements from the 15-year-old girl who accused the firebrand politician Kamarainba of sexually abusing her in Kono in eastern Sierra Leone.
And it was after the father and mother of the 15-year-old girl had given their own statements regarding the sexual accusation that the Police Inspector and his team gave their honest findings by adducing that the information given by the teenage girl had some loopholes.When the Investigative Team in Kono went to the Diamond Lodge Hotel where the alleged sexual penetration had allegedly taken place, their conclusion became apparent. Because the records from the hotel verified that Mr Mohamed Kamarainba Mansaray was never in the hotel on the date in question nor at any point in time.
The Police Inspector and his investigative team noted that since the place where the alleged sexual penetration had allegedly occurred could not be substantiated by the teenage girl they believe there is no credible evidence against the politician Kamarainba Mansaray.
Things took a dramatic turn for the worse for the Police Inspector and his Team as their conclusion did not satisfy some higher-ups in Freetown. As a result, a new team of investigators from Freetown left on Wednesday, July 22, 2020, to Kono to investigate. Sources say, the police wanted to concoct the evidence against Mr Kamarainba, who has always denied the accusation saying: “It is politically motivated.”
The alleged sexual penetration, according to the 15-year-old-girl and her parents, occurred on February 14, 2020. The public is astonished as to why it took more than five months before the allegation was reported. “This is a clear ploy and orchestrated plan because no medical doctor can verify specimen of sex after five months,” observers say.
Supporters of the ADP leader are calling on all media houses and Civil Society Organisations to verify why the Inspector of Police who also doubles as Line Manager was transferred immediately after the file was transferred to Freetown.
Reliable sources say this sexual penetration allegation occurred way back on February 14, 2020. It is a setup and a politically motivated one designed to silence Mohamed Kamarainba Mansaray since he is the most vocal opposition leader in the country today. Investigations continue.
