A cruise ship with 105 tourists from various countries across the world recently docked at Aberdeen in Freetown where they were received by the new Minister of Tourism and Cultural Affairs Honourable Sidi Yahya Tunis, his deputy and senior members of his Ministry (see photo).
The visit which was facilitated by Visit Sierra Leone, is intended to open the country up to tourists across the world.
While welcoming the tourists to Sierra Leone, the Minister on behalf of the government thanked Visit Sierra Leone and the organizers for choosing Sierra Leone and encouraged them to help in the rebranding of the country by sharing their positive experiences in Sierra Leone with other tourists around the world.
Tunis said Sierra Leone is not only a pleasant destination for tourists, but also a lucrative place for investment, especially in the tourism sector. He encouraged them to organize more trips to Sierra Leone and triple the number of tourists on their next visit.
The tourists visited Tacaguma, Tokeh Beach and had a soccer match at Lumley beach.
